Alternative Materials
This project was inspired by The London Underground and the dominant primary colours used throughout. I then decided to look at The Memphis Movement and designed woven fabric samples to visualise a new moquette design for the tube seating. I also incorporated a variety of plastic materials (plastic straws and bags) in my project to highlight the issue of single use plastics with the idea of making a fabric suitable for the seating on the tube with a surface easy enough to wipe over for efficiency when cleaning and prolonging the life of single use plastics.
